Defining globalization is not a clear cut as supporters and opponents of the phenomenon have different explanations. Globalization is associated with growing integration, but polarization where different cultures try to maintain their uniqueness and fight against domination (Barber, et al., 2015). Taking into account the economic, political and social aspects to globalization gives more meaning to the concept of globalization where diverse dimensions are considered. The role of the US in the world is likely to be viewed negatively as policies simply conform to the stances supported by the US while ignoring the input of other countries.
Globalization has been associated with the spread of the US vision as the most powerful country on earth, but the world is multipolar while there is homogenization of the different cultures. There are different viewpoints and cultural perspectives, but with increased interaction in a global world there is a risk that there will be a clash of cultural values (Lechner &Boli, 2011).
