Wealth inequality in the US is a pressing issue representing economic and social disparities. Financial distribution influences social structures, community dynamics, and individual well-being. Symbolic interactionism, Functionalism, and Conflict Theory are a few sociological theories I plan to use in the data on wealth distribution to comprehend the consequences and patterns fully.

Income Inequality Metrics
A recent census indicated that the richest 1% of U.S. income earners own a disproportionate percentage of the nation's wealth, while the poorest 50% own less (Wolff, 2021). This reveals that a small minority controls most of the nation's economic resources. The riches of a few suggest an economic division. Income inequality can stratify society, limiting education, healthcare, and social mobility. This inequality may be due to societal roles that promote certain professions or skills more than others, according to Functionalism. Conflict Theory claims this unequal distribution generates societal conflict by benefiting a small group and hurting
