Donald: The issues raised here are valid because in order to have an effective counseling to a client the culture background has to be considered in order for the potential barriers to be identified. Their client should be asked some well framed questions to unearth any possible barriers to the therapy. According to Neace, (2012), clients that require counseling come from different backgrounds, it is therefore important counselors have an in-depth knowledge in numerous ways that culture affects the counseling process.
John: He describes the challenges that counselors face when dealing with gender related disorder due to the fact that a lot of studies have focused on male issues with little reflection on the female. Racial diversity should be considered for effective counseling, while observing ethics codes associated with counseling. This is supported by Melati and Hanim (2008), who points out that it is crucial for a counselor to understand the social, political dynamics of a client to avoid misdiagnosis and wrong assumptions.

John: The need for specialized training for counselors who deal with these groups of client with special cases in the society is discussed here. He also highlights the three stages needed for education programs. According to Doweiko (2012), in the 20th century, it has been noted that there was a mistaken assumption that the methods used to treat male addicts could also work for women.
