4-1. Staying healthy is crucial during adolescence; Teenagers are prone to social related diseases like obesity, anorexia, and bulimia. Some of the physical and psychological factors that can contribute to these health problems include individual's beliefs. In search of an identity, adolescence believes that people are constantly watching them hence developing imaginary audiences (Kail & Cavanaugh, 2015).
Teenagers tend to worry too much about the physical appearance and the body changes. Adolescents are cautious about what they eat which result to anorexia. To might overcome these health problems, teenagers need to live in a family atmosphere where parents encourage them and acknowledge their unique experiences to feel more secure (Kail & Cavanaugh, 2015).
4-2 . Two other types of cultural ceremonies that take place to celebrate milestones in adolescent development include Menarche held for both boys and girls. Menarche for girls involves a private ceremony to celebrate girls graduating to adolescents. After the girl's first menstrual period, a ceremony named "the changing woman," meaning a heroic figure is performed. In boys, spermache also marks the beginning of boys developing sperms in their testicles during puberty (Kail & Cavanaugh, 2015).
5-1. Socio-emotional changes among adolescences that impact on family systems include social identity. During adolescence, the search for identity involves exploration, testing limits and becoming autonomous. During this process, parental guidance is important because adolescent wrongly believes that they are the focus of other people's thinking (Kail & Cavanaugh, 2015). For example, a teenager who spills food on herself tend to think that all his friends will be looking at her blouse and consider her as a careless person.
Adolescence experiences a self-conscious desire to feel important among their peers and to gain social acceptance. Even though adolescents form their identities by pulling away from their parents, parents still play an important role in their lives, warm and caring parent's results to positives outcomes with fewer school-related problems.
