I concur that the six creative family rituals like having dinner together as a family, holding hands around the table and praying during dinner time are important. Spend the weekend with the whole family, doing most of the activities together like going to the movie doing yard work going fishing or bowling or simply visiting a family member creates a strong bond (Tartakovsky, 2011). All these activities are important during recovery because the family will get to understand each other from a different standpoint (Promise Treatment Center, 2017).
Yolanda
I do agree with Yolanda that with daily rituals like prayers the family can never go wrong, prayer is a weapon prayer changes people because God answers our prayers (Promise Treatment Center, 2017). Using a gratitude list, the family can adopt activities like listening to music or sit together and communicate with each other to learn new things from each member. Rituals like watching inspiration show or movie playing games together are positive enforcers (Promise Treatment Center,2017).
8-2: Ashley
According to Gorski six developmental stages, I agree with Ashley, the most challenging stage stabilization stage. It reaches a point when a person accepts that he has issues with drugs or alcohol and seek help. During the withdrawal process, they might experience cravings and develop feelings about his past (Lewis, Dana & Blevins, 2015). When one struggle with withdrawal symptoms and clients might not have adequate coping skills putting them at a higher risk of relapsing (Lewis, Dana & Blevins, 2015).
Kari
It is true that people in maintenance stage find it difficult to reduce their unacceptable behavior, during this process the counselor needs to ensure that client verbalize their relapse trigger and identify risky situations. According to Fisher & Harrison, (2012), during maintenance stage clients have courage and hope, but can also be overconfident; they assume that they cannot relapse and can have superficial goals to achieve (Lewis, Dana & Blevins, 2015).
