The impact of climate change has been increasing with time, and the environment has been impacted both positively and negatively. However, the impacts of global climate change have been more negative than positive, evident through the observable negative effects on the people and the entire environment. The three notable environmental effects of climate change are intense atmospheric temperature, the rise in the level of the water masses and changes in precipitation level. The environmental impacts that were predicted by NASA to be the future consequences are now being experienced (NASA, 2016). As a result of the rise in atmospheric temperature, there have been shrinking glaciers and melting ice leading to lakes and rivers breaking up and hence flooding. By the end of the 20th century, the global temperature and the heat wave level had risen by 1 degree Fahrenheit (NASA, 2016). As a result of the frost-free season, the growing season has lengthened, and it is a standout positive impact of climate change in the environment. NASA uses the Northern Great Plains as an example of the positive environmental changes that has occurred due to climate change.
