Capitalist Economy within a Communist State

China’s economy is governed by the laws of supply and demand, which have resulted from the economic developments the country has experienced over the past few decades of political reforms. The country is currently uneven, uncoordinated, and unsustainable. Deng, who was a committed communist steered the economy towards the current market free economy while upholding communism and ensuring his party’s monopoly power. The transition has been from a developing country to an industrialized one, and the challenge is for it to head towards a fully developed economy (Dickson, 2016). The country is characterized by capitalism, but with a communist party framework. However, although the markets have opened up to foreign investment, the community’s day to day trade and industry business operate through the local markets, and the ownership rights are largely owned by the farmers. The Chinese government continues rooting for communism as most of the companies both small and medium-sized flourishing in business are state-owned. Most of the large and prosperous companies are state-owned.
