Artificial intelligence is creating machines such that they work and react like human beings. The key human traits picked in this field of computer science are speech recognition, planning, learning, and problem-solving. These machines are programmed to manipulate and move objects (Keating & Nourbakhsh, 2018). Some of the aspects of artificial intelligence are knowledge engineering and machine learning. Knowledge engineering is the manipulation of the systems of these machines so that they can access and relate different objects, categories, and properties. Machine learning, on the other hand, involves the identification of patterns, stream inputs, classification, and numerical regressions.
Generally, artificial intelligence was introduced to make work easier for humans by aiding in difficult tasks. It started with the invention of plows and weapons during the earlier ages of human life and has evolved (Keating & Nourbakhsh, 2018). Artificial intelligence was introduced in the mid-nineteenth century in problem-solving and in symbolic methods. It was then later adopted in the US department of defense in mapping projects. Over the years the machines have developed to human personal assistants like in the case of Siri and Alexa knew in the states (Keating & Nourbakhsh, 2018). With continuous innovations, the machines are currently taking over human jobs.
Artificial intelligence has had a notable effect on technology and human productivity. The made machinery help in saving time since they are quick in their performance (Zhou & Shen, 2018). They help in providing a more customized offer for customers in businesses. The use of these types of machinery in the diagnosis in health facilities has ensured accurate diagnosis and the senior citizens have received prompt and appropriate medication hence live a fuller and healthier life (Zhou & Shen, 2018). On the other hand, these machines have encouraged laziness in work setups as people rely on them for the performance of complex duties. Humans have also lost control in their lives since they rely on these machines for decision making hence eventually lack intel on basic soft skills (Zhou & Shen, 2018). The systems are of these machines are therefore set such that they focus on peak performance of a business or an organization and will compromise human ethics for performance.
