My values, beliefs, and biases influenced my advocacy project in various ways. For instance, my values influenced how I used messaging and framed my project. Certainly, I used a language that resonates with my values in persuading other people. Secondly, my values motivated me and gave me the resilience to remain committed to my course. My beliefs enabled me to go for alliances and support from like-minded people and organizations that align with my belief systems. My biases led me to alienate people who failed to align with my biases, which did more harm than good. Additionally, my biases led me to unintentionally exclude a few people from the project, which I aim to correct in future advocacy projects.
In a bid to revise and improve my efforts in my advocacy project, I might use this information in self-reflection. I will take time to comprehend how my values, beliefs, and biases influenced my project. Secondly, I might use this information to look for diverse perspectives by seeking people with different values and beliefs from the ones I possess (SCIAF, 2018).
