Henceforth, the popularity of the conditions has expanded especially in the media coverage. However, the manners in which the disorders are described in popular culture vary from the DSM-5 descriptions. This is because the new DSM-5, 5th Edition has made some modifications to Obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. For instance, in the DSM-5 Obsessive-compulsive disorder and related disorders are no longer reflected as anxiety disorders. In fact, the disorders have their chapter. This is due to unswerving evidence establishing common characteristics among distinct disarrays.
The depiction of body dysmorphic disorder in DSM-5 varies from other description in that it contains an additional criterion. The standard designates repetitive conducts in response to anxieties with perceived deficiencies in physical appearance (Grant et al., 2014).
