Confidentiality is the act of not sharing information with others. Each group member should respect agreements about anonymity and confidentiality. Confidentiality in a group helps to foster an environment of trust allowing group members share more sincerely with others. The counselor should ensure confidentiality within and outside the group format by setting strict rules or having each member sign a non-disclosure agreement. The rules can be anyone who violates to be cut out from the group. (Desai, 2010).
