4-1 Students Post Name Institution Date Jacquie I agree with Jacquie that the main difference between symptoms of depressive disorders and bipolar disorders is the mania or hypomania. The timing, duration, and known etiology differentiate the two disorders (Manning,2015). For bipolar disorder, the presence of mania and the duration of manic symptoms affect ones general functioning while for depressive disorder one does not experience high, period of bipolar mania or hypomania. Bipolar disorder symptoms are severe and often recur and it's a lifelong condition caused by comorbid conditions (Manning,2015). For both symptoms of depressive disorders and bipolar disorders individual develops the feeling of hopelessness, have irritable mood, including, change of appetite and sleep and feeling withdrawn (Manning,2015).
