What is the Difference between Interpretation and Application?
Interpretation and application are significant concepts in the field of hermeneutics that have raised controversy among readers and scholars. Interpretation refers to the action of explaining the meaning of a text to understand it. It gives a clear understanding of God's message through human authors intended to pass to his people. In explaining this concept, Witherington III (2015) asserted that a biblical text must be interpreted according to the plain meaning conveyed by its historical and literal contexts.
