There is an intricate and highly interconnecting relationship between God and nature. Nature has often been using as a manifestation of God’s presence. The examination of nature as an approach to understanding the presence of God is what is defined as natural theology. Arguably, God is nature. God encompasses all ownership of the universe and all the things in space or earth, including plants, animals and non-living items, which essentially constitute nature. Thus, it becomes impossible to delineate or delink God from nature. God is accorded all-powerful description including being defined as omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient and God is the Alpha and the Omega, the start and the end. This features and descriptions illustrate how God is universal being that is beyond human understanding.
Religion is one of the most controversial, divisive and diverse themes that will take centuries or never for people to come to any meaningful consensus. The subthemes of God and nature do not evade controversy due to diversity of opinion which is often based on absolute faith without necessary interrogation. Most of the religious beliefs are anchored on ‘faith’, in which people are asked to believe in what have espoused scriptures unquestioningly. It is always ‘uncomfortable to subject religious arguments and beliefs to in-depth scientific, rational and critical scrutiny. The availability of various religious groups practising diverse and different doctrines and beliefs demonstrates how religions should be more about tolerance to individuals’ beliefs so long as it does not infringe on the universally accepted rights of others, There are three fundamental religious groups practices monotheism including Islam, Christianity and Judaism. Others include Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and many more.
The concepts of God and the universe reflect themes surrounded by mysteries. The fundamental debate and questions involve who created whom? Did the man make God or God created man? Why do people have to suffer yet God is painted as a God who has absolute, unlimited power to even overrides universal laws and powers? The mere existence of people in most instances constitutes a manifestation of God who created man.
