Hinduism is a broad variety of religious philosophies and traditions developed over thousands of years in India. Most Hindus believe in rebirth, worship deities, observe festive holidays such as Holi and Diwali, and value meditation practice. The Hinduism tradition is classically divided into four sects: Vaishnava, Smarta, Shaiva, and Shakta (Simmons & Governors State University, 1999).
Jainism just like Hinduism has defined beliefs in Deity of life after death, origin of life, incarnation, salvation, and suffering. Janis believes that people who destroy their karmas obtain infinite power, infinite knowledge, infinite bliss, and infinite perception. Such humans become gods and never suffer rebirth. Jainism is a belief that there is no God, and those human kinds operating under its own laws are not managed by Jinas. In Jainism, 24 Jinas are looked at as inspirational bridges and are worshipped by others in order to achieve liberation. As opposed to Hinduism, Jainism believes that any living being has the ability to become Gone when enlightened, and Janis believes that the number of gods is becoming innumerable with more people being enlightened (Glasenapp & Shrotri, 1999).
Hinduism is a collection of sacred texts known wholly as Sanatana Dharma, meaning the external teaching. It is a complex tradition with numerous composite interrelated practices and doctrines of religion that have common features but without unified system of practices and beliefs (Narayanan, 2010). Hinduism also encompasses several major sects and countless sub-sections with regional and local variations. It is also possible to look at these sects as distinctive traditions of religion with specific ritual traditions and theologies. On the other hand, Hindus view themselves as a different means with a common end (Narayanan, 2010).
In contrary to the beliefs of Hinduism, Jainism has no belief in incarnations, the religion believes that gods are human who are liberated from rebirth and obtains enlightenment. They also believe that there is no sole creator of the universe: the universe in infinite, eternal and functions on its own cosmic law and involves earth, hell, and heaven.
