I discussed the same topic in my post, but I think that your discussion is more detailed and informing and it has expanded my understanding of the topic. I agree with your explanation that intelligence tests are crucial in the sense that they help identify the area that the student is struggling and help put an emphasis to help the learner. I made the same explanation in my discussion. I would however, add that intelligence tests have not been efficient in schools alone. They have found significant application in military and in different professions that require high levels of accuracy. Their primary purpose is to help place learners and workers in their best position. I support your analysis of errors in intelligence tests. This is the point I failed to address in my post and I am glad I have found it in your posts. One of the assumptions that teachers make is that each student that passes the intelligent test is intelligent and can succeed in life. These tests are prone of bias, especially because the concepts are westernized. You have explained that some learners that pass the test struggle in their assigned classes. Sometimes the mistakes in these tests attract criticisms for failing to produce reliable results. One could expect that a person that has passed the IQ test will lead a successful life or even pass academic tests in their classes. Studies have, however, proved that some students still struggle in their assigned classes even after successfully passing the IQ tests. After reading your discussion, I would add that you did not discuss the concept of cultural bias when discussing the concept of bias in IQ tests. In my discussion, I discussed that the United States has a history of racial bias and segregation. When IQ tests are conducted in an environment with a high population of white participants compared to African-Americans, black students tend to fail compared to their white counterparts.
