Identify three of the physical changes that adolescents experience during puberty and discuss how these may influence their sense of self and social interactions
Male adolescents develop a deeper voice in adolescence, and this gives them confidence and a new identity. Consequently, they are able to interact with their peers freely. Also, male teenagers experience the enlargement of their testicles and penis, giving them confidence and a sense of self-identity and self-esteem (Tanti & La Trobe University, 2009). This makes them boast to the opposite gender of their new development. Additionally, the male teenagers' libido levels increase and are able to ejaculate; hence they start socializing with the members of the opposite sex to experience and satisfy the new need of sexual satisfaction in adolescent. The female teenagers experience the widening of their hips and enlargement of buttocks. This creates a sense of identity for them.
