Human services entail all the efforts geared towards assisting and empowering the people in society, so that they can manage to achieve their goals and needs. The essence of human service professionals to this end, is to facilitate the process of prevention, enlightenment and even further acquisition of resources for the community in which they are assigned. It is a profession like any other, since it calls for the possession of the required skillset to effectively deliver what needed. The task at hand in this case entails visiting an agency, carrying out an interview and drawing some insights therein.
Faith Bridge Foster Care
For this interview I visited an agency by the name Faith Bridge Foster Care in Alpharetta. The agency deals in child placement where it places needy children to foster homes and other childcare centres. For the interview, I managed to get audience with Beth Vinyard the directory to the agency. The organization is a charitable hence does not work for profits. It is funded with donations and grants from the state government and other donors. The activities are guided by a mission statement which maintains its focus on mobilizing, organizing and equipping local churches with capacities that will enable them help their community’s to handle the crisis they experience on foster care. The fact that it is a nonprofit organization, provides it with the basic foundations for the provision of human services.
Being a children placement organization that works on a charity basis, most of the clients of the organization are children and possible foster families. The children come from needy households, e.g. those with abusive or irresponsible parents (Horwitz et al. 2019). They are taken from various state departments, and the organization gets willing households to take them in and look after them. The foster families are interested households willing to adopt and look after the children. There are so any foster families that are willing to take custody and provide proper care for kids, and this is just a great gesture for humanity.
Staff
The efficiency, image and success of an organization start right from its staff. The organization has a workforce of 10 professional staff members who play various roles in the running and performance of the tasks and obligations of the organization.
