1 Which represents the greatest threat to society: multiple murder, workplace violence, or violent bias crimes? Support your position by referring to statistics and research in each area.
Violence threat in various areas has increased over the years. Threat dependents on the exposure number of casualties that are likely to be affected by violence. Workplace violence posses a lot of danger to a lot of people, for example, schools, professional work stations, and other congested work environment are likely to be a big threat. The workplace environment has occurred in many cases in the US where a worker kills himself or fellow workers, or in other cases, a student killing himself or killing others. In 2000 to 2012, the bureau of labour statistics recorded that 80% of workplace homicide was by shooting. It also added that 12% of the assailants were previous coworkers while 40% was by robbers (Bush, Demakis & Rohling, 2017). Multiple murder is another violence threat which is divided into two categories of serial murder and mass murder. It is discussed that in most cases serial murders are mission-oriented and they operate professionally in most cases while mass murder involves a gang that raids the society with the agenda of killing. Even though mass murder is likely to cause a lot of death, it not considered as frightening like a serial killer case. An example of mass murder was in Oklahoma City in which 168 people died while in 2001 terroristic bombing that leftover 3500 deaths in various regions which were associated with the terroristic Islamic groups (Bush, Demakis & Rohling, 2017). Bias violence is another threat that has been recorded by the FBI, especially in the 90s. This is caused by offenders who hate a particular race, gender, or any other stereotype. In 1994, the FBI recorded 64% of the bias crimes came from women assaulted by men. It was believed that some men hated and understood women in various aspects, which resulted in assaulting in extreme cases. This led to the formation of violence against women act (VAWA) that was passed in the same year and reauthorized in 2000 and 2013. From the three major threats of violence, multiple murder is considered the biggest threat to society. Serial killers, mass murders, and mass terrorists are the most people who also have massive death in the past.

Gender sensitivity in recent society has created a significant difference in service delivery to both these two gender groups. This has been exactly replicated in the field of justice, where a clear difference is seen, especially when handling female cases. In the FBI annual report in 2013, it was reported that male accounted for 90% of the total crimes recorded (Titchiner, 2019). This was a ratio of 9:1, which was extremely high compared to that of women. Other countries also imitate this result.
