Schizoaffective disorders are some of the frequent mood disorders. Schizoaffective disorder embodies spectra of schizophrenic and mood disorder symptoms. It is marked by undulating or alternating periods and cycles of severe symptoms and improvements. Thus, schizoaffective disorder represents a non-specific constellation of symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations, depressed episodes, and manic cycles of high energy. Bipolar disorder is a critical example of schizoaffective disorder, which this paper will focus on.
Angeline Roper, in her video, unravels experiences of dealing with schizoaffective disorders. She talks about what is normal and abnormal about her condition. She is battling bipolar disorder, which is a typical form of schizoaffective disorder. Her narrations regarding her life experience regarding bipolar and associated symptoms show mood derangement marked by alternating moods. She talks about extreme mood changes, i.e. low to high, and vice versa.
