We were purchasing five stocks (in a stock game) in November. But we lost a lot after that. We need to explain the reason in this essay.
The portfolio was based on the purchase of Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) 17 shares, Starbucks Corp. (SBUX) 294 shares, Walmart Inc. (WMT) 192 shares, Apple Inc. (AAPL) 102 shares and Kroger Co. (KR) 384 Shares. Walmart has experienced huge e-commerce sales when compared to Kroger and Amazon‘s sale of fresh groceries online has grown (Sonenshine, 2019). The portfolio underperformed as there was only increase in value for the Starbucks holdings and was not enough to offset the losses from the other four stocks in the technology and retail sectors.
