Introduction
Business Ethics guides the behavior of organizations to determine what is wrong and what is right. Similarly, the practice of statistics involves several ethical issues associated with it that need to be addressed. Although many argue that religion does not relate to the practice of statistics, this paper analyzes how to apply Christian values in ethical situations and how to integrate statistic into religion. The paper further discusses some of the ethical guideline that are applicable in reference to scholarly articles that discuss ethical guideline and it can affect personal decision making regarding statistic and ethics in reference to Christian worldview values .
Statistics Integration
Statistics is an important field because it allows us to predict certain economic or sociological elements by applying probability reasoning to set of collected data. In the 21st century, statistic has expanded into a well-constructed scientific field that includes construction of theoretical and mathematical framework done by assessing numerical data to obtain valid knowledge (Superville, 1999).
Statistics is important in the decision-making process because it involves translating collected data into numbers. This helps decision-makers understand the risks related to the type of decision they make. To generate a correct statistic data, it is important to have good working ethical, meaning that statisticians need to be fair in collecting data to make the best decision (Superville, 1999). Statisticians can emulate good business practices that require them to uphold good moral during their work process .This includes developing individual moral behavior to produce desirable results (Superville, 1999). Statistics must apply Christian worldview principles of trust and honesty. It is an important standard to have for collecting statistic data. The numbers in collected data must be truthful.
Ethical issues in Business Statistics
In business, ethics means applying the right conduct of pursuing good, this may be defined as moral goals and objective that people choose to pursue and serve that defines who they are. In business, unethical behavior comprises of fraudulent activity or any misleading behavior committed by an individual that might lead to breaking the law (Gillikin, 2012). Fraud occurs when an individual deceives people to the sole purpose of gaining their trust .Morally ethical behavior's reward is prestige rather than financial gain. However, in business there are a lot of temptations that results in unethical conduct. Whenever an opportunity arises individuals have always succumbed to temptation for personal gain by altering data, this is a common behavior among major corporations (Gillikin, 2012). While on the other hand, other companies display ethical behavior through corporate social responsibilities. Corporate social reasonability, in this case, means making decision taking into consideration issues that affect immediate stakeholders and other groups of people who can be affected by the cooperates actions (Gillikin, 2012).
