In the video titled 7 Trends in Management Accounting - Trend 2, Gary Cokins talks about the second most important management accounting trend: Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and the role of management accounting (Accountants, 2014). Enterprise performance management is all about integrating different methods like balanced scorecard, driver-based budgeting, customer relationship management, and strategy map to achieve the desired results and gain more and more profits. Without a management accounting system, it may not be possible to manage multiple operations and activities and gain insights on how to bring a business to the peaks of success. An example of this is that my company cannot gain financial strength if a comprehensive management accounting system is not used. With such a system, it will be easy for me to measure the performance of employees and give them rewards accordingly.
