Destination Case: Tourist Attraction Centers In Canada

- Make the case for a specific destination to target a particular tourism segment, that would meet the needs of those travelers, and be beneficial for the community.
- Pick one of the segments from the Destination Canada EQ profiles (www(dot)youtube(dot)com/watch?v=Bm4yHV3K1DY&feature=youtu.be and https://www(dot)destinationcanada(dot)com/en/tools#explorerquotient (go to EQ Profiles' at bottom of page)
- Pick a destination that is a town, city or small region, and identify how you would attract this segment?
• Briefly, introduce and define the concepts of destination marketing and segmentation (use your textbook!)
• Introduce and summarize your segment (use the DC info!)
• Identify and summarize your destination's ‘product' (Use DMO!)
• Identify links between your segment and your destination, and argue why this segment would be a beneficial target market for your destination
 You should discuss some of the following concepts in relation to your topic:
o Traveler motivations (use your textbook!)
o Buyer needs and benefits sought (Inkson & Minnaert, 2012, p. 350)
o Topics related to social and cultural impacts (use your textbook and other examples/articles!)
