Strengths in Leadership
It is worrying seeing many individuals spend a lot of time struggling to realize and become their best version in life. In line with (Brook & Brewerton, 2016), many people struggle because they do not consider the creative way to choose careers that suit them the most and directions to take. One creative way that guarantees a person his or her dream career and direction to take involves personal assessment. Personal assessment is an important activity that helps a person to realize the sense of personal best version. Therefore, the following paper provides a detailed personal SWOT analysis. It then explains how results obtained from the analysis could be used both in the workplace setting and in the community.
Personal SWOT Analysis
Strengths
I am a meticulous statistician with an excellent record of accuracy and client satisfaction that research institutions require. It is after attaining a master degree pursuing population and social statistics in one of the premier university. Secondly, I a strong experience with latest statistical computer software packages for data entry, editing, analysis and presentation that most statisticians have not attained. I have worked with the States Bureau of Statistics (SBS) for two years where I made valuable connections. I am now proud because I understand constraints of working life and have developed work attitudes such as self-confidence and self-reliance. After actively serving as the in charge ICT in the church, the leadership opportunity enabled me to embrace a collaborative team environment. Therefore, I can work together in value creation and appreciate corporate culture.
Weaknesses
Three main areas of weakness stifle and deter my valuable strengths. First, I am easily angered and stressed up when I do not meet targets. Secondly, I am slow at making friends and connecting with new people, and thus most of the time I stay alone. Also, I fear to make public presentations particularly to a group of people I have never met before. Therefore, many people doubt my work experience and leadership qualities.
Opportunities
I work in a research institution that offers valuable opportunities for growth especially for individuals who want to become skilled data analysts. First, the company has established data processing and training centre. It would offer me a good opportunity to learn various computer software packages for data analysis. Secondly, the company organizes employees to work in teams where each team presents results to all members of the staff. As the team leader, it would sharpen my public presentation skills and help me overcome public speaking fears.
Threats
Currently, there are specific and major threats which I experience at the workplace; they are highlighted as follows. First, the work involved is demanding and requires long working hours throughout the week. Therefore, it gives me a little time to spend with my family and engage in other activities in church and the community.
