Servant leadership is a concept helps companies to break away from the long-standing hierarchy approach that requires the staff to simply do what their leaders order them to. The servant leadership approach is associated with leaders that are empowering to the staff and generally to the company as it is integrated in the organizational culture. One of the companies that is actually in the top one hundred Fortune companies, is Starbucks (Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, 2017). This is a company that deals in fast foods and considered among the ones that help their staff achieve the very best by providing an enabling environment (Lichtenwalner, 2017).
At Starbucks, the employees work in an environment that offers them opportunities to develop their talents and skills at the individual and team level. They are able to learn and their leaders offer them stewardship, humility, interpersonal acceptance and authenticity.
