The hiring experts at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic focuses on recruiting and hiring philosophy. In this case, the applicants for waiters and waitress position were not supposed to gain more than 8 percent of their body weight from the time they were hired. This shows that 120-pound women cannot increase more than nine pounds over her employment in the company. Employment was also based on looks; physically good-looking individuals are alleged to be smarter, more effective, friendlier, very dominant, and having developed self-esteem. And the customers will prefer to be helped by those types of workers rather than those who are less attractive (Aamodt, 2012). The notion is that the more attractive workers the organization has the more customers that business will attract. This means that more money will be generated to the company and this can lead to increase in the employee’s salaries. Skill and competence to do the work are also other factors that are being overlooked when concern is placed on physical appearance. Though these good-looking individuals may be able to perform the work, there are also individuals who are less attractive who could perform the duty more successfully.
Also, various steps have been designed to attract not only the number of applicants but also give a competence image of the resort.
