Regardless of the responsibilities in workplaces, there comes a time when someone needs to showcase leadership abilities. Leadership takes different meanings for different positions and instances. However, many the definitions it might have, leadership has little or nothing to do with one's hierarchy, stature in the organization (Vasilescu, 2019). It mainly involves the ability to create a positive thinking attitude and transmitting it to the company and the staff to achieve set goals and objectives. Amazon.com CEO, Steve Jobs, once said that 'I think if you do something and it turns out pretty good, then you should do something else wonderful, not dwell on it for too long.' (Solanki, 2019) His quote inspires me towards the kind of a leader I want to be in my job. I am passionate about strategic leadership style, which fits well with the type of leader I want to be in the future. I am looking forward to heading to the sales and marketing department at Nike Company, where I will exercise strategic leadership skills.
Many people confuse between leadership and management. However, leadership skills have more to do with one's values, beliefs, and character.
