Choose an organization with which you are familiar.
Using Word, PowerPoint, or a drawing program, prepare an organizational chart that shows the major positions of an organization beginning with the chief executive officer at the top, and continuing downward to include the individual contributors who do not hold supervisory or management positions.
If there are many positions at the bottom of the chart, you may combine them. For example, in a school there may be many teachers.
On your chart, you may designate where the positions are in the hierarchy, but you do not need to name everyone.
There are many free templates that can be used with Word, PowerPoint, and drawing programs.
In Word (or some other compatible word processor), prepare a paper of 1,500 words maximum not including title page or references (double spaced, 12-point font) describing the organization’s structure and how that structure aids it in accomplishing its strategies, and compare the vertical and horizontal structures of the organization.

A focused and success-oriented organization has a system that dictates how certain functions and activities are directed with the view of achieving its objectives. The order in this context is an organizational structure. The events that govern the structure of the organization include roles and activities. Nestle SA is a Swish multinational company based in Vevey, Switzerland. It is a nutritional organization that makes foods and beverages, and it is ranked as the largest nutrition company in the world as of 2019. Its major merchandise includes java, confectionery, bottled water, cereals, dairy nutrients, babe foods, ice picks, bites, and many other goods. The divisions and trade entities of the organization have had annual gross revenues of about $1.1 billion, including Nescafe, Nespresson, Smarties, Nesquik, Vittel, and Maggi, Kit Kat. The company produces approximately 500 mills in 90 states and has a total of about 400,000 employees all over the world (Emmanouilides, 2018). Nestle SA is a renowned principal shareholder of L'Oreal, the globe's largest cosmetics company. It was founded in 1905 when Anglo-Swiss Milk Company, which was founded in 1886 by George and Charles Page, combined. The organization grew significantly from World War I through World War II.
Organizational Structure
Nestle SA is a centralized company that follows both the matrix and hierarchical form of structure as the main branch gives licenses to the subordinates to enjoy high levels of independence as long as the requirements of the organization are executed. The operations are presented from the most top points of leadership down to the local units.
