 GUIDELINES FOR WRITING A CASE STUDY ANALYSIS
A case study analysis requires you to investigate a business problem, examine the alternative solutions, and propose the most effective solution using supporting evidence. 
Preparing the Case
Before you begin writing, follow these guidelines to help you prepare and understand the case study:
1. Read (or view) and examine the case thoroughly
• Take notes, highlight relevant facts, underline key problems.
2. Focus your analysis
• Identify two to five key problems
• Why do they exist?
• How do they impact the organization?
• Who is responsible for them?
3. Uncover possible solutions
• Review course readings, discussions, outside research, your experience.
4. Select the best solution
• Consider strong supporting evidence, pros, and cons: is this solution realistic?
Drafting the Case
Once you have gathered the necessary information, a draft of your analysis should include these sections:
1. Introduction
• Identify the key problems and issues in the case study.
• Formulate and include a thesis statement, summarizing the outcome of your analysis in 1–2 sentences.
2. Background
• Set the scene: background information, relevant facts, and the most important issues.
• Demonstrate that you have researched the problems in this case study.
3. Alternatives
• Outline possible alternatives (not necessarily all of them)
• Explain why alternatives were rejected
• Constraints/reasons
• Why are alternatives not possible at this time?
4. Proposed Solution
• Provide one specific and realistic solution
• Explain why this solution was chosen
• Support this solution with solid evidence
• Concepts from class (text readings, discussions, lectures)
• Outside research
• Personal experience (anecdotes)
5. Recommendations
• Determine and discuss specific strategies for accomplishing the proposed solution.
• If applicable, recommend further action to resolve some of the issues
• What should be done and who should do it?
Finalizing the Case
After you have composed the first draft of your case study analysis, read through it to check for any gaps or inconsistencies in content or structure: Is your thesis statement clear and direct? Have you provided solid evidence? Is any component from the analysis missing?
When you make the necessary revisions, proofread and edit your analysis before submitting the final draft.

Introduction
There are several problems that arise from the case The Organic Nonprofit: Feet First. While Feet Forward began with the charitable intention of providing children in Africa with sports supplies and equipment, Sydney raised an important issue that may put into question the whole operations of the non-profit organization. Is it right to provide the children in Africa with sports equipment and supplies while they may be having other more important needs? Therefore, the problems and issues that arise from the case include lack of information on the needs of villagers in Africa, lack of representation of African villagers in the board, and the possibility that the nonprofit organization may have to change its operations. This paper argues that Aiden and his friends need to do a thorough examination of the needs of the African villagers to find a sustainable direction for the organization. 
Background
The motivation of Aiden and Mason to form a nonprofit organization seems to emerge from their early interest in sport as well from their visit to Africa. Provision of sports equipment and supplies may have seemed a charitable idea, but Sydney, one of Aiden’s classmates in Leadership and Social Enterprise course, raised important issues that the nonprofit organization may not have taken into consideration during its formation process. The questions raised by Sydney clearly shows that Aiden did not have enough information about the needs of the beneficiaries of Feet Forward. As the CEO of the company, Aiden should be aware of the problems and the needs of African villagers he claimed to serve. However, as it turned out, there may be other underlying issues for the African villagers. From the mission statement of the organization, it is evident that the beneficiaries have limited resources. Therefore, it is probable that there may be other underlying issues that Feet Forward overlooked in their charitable intentions.
One of the factors that limit the success of businesses is poor market research. While Feet Forward is not a business organization, the challenges that hinder business success are easily applicable in its case. The lack of information about the real needs of the African villagers could put in jeopardy the operations of the organization going into the future. Furthermore, without a representative of the African villagers to provide feedback and information about the needs of the beneficiaries, it is safe to say that Aiden and his friends have little knowledge of the challenges the villagers go through. As shown in by Hatten (2020), one of the key characteristics of successful entrepreneurs is possession of knowledge. Therefore, it appears that there are key problems that Aiden needs to address to ensure the success of Feet Forward into the future. 
Alternatives
