Titled One of the Good Guys, Chapter 2 explores the role implicit biases play in how we view others at work or the decisions we make in life. I found it surprising that this type of bias can occur even without an individual intending them. Even more intriguing is the fact that 70-75% of Americans have an innate preference that favors the white population (Chugh & Block 2018). In my view, I think implicit bias occurs when people face stress or pressure and they want to take the short cut. Therefore, they will make decisions that resonate with practical societal norms.
