During the recession, most of the staff at the place of work were not sure about their job security. What followed were some tough choices for the management to let go some of staff. Working for a medium software company, most of the staff at my work place were laid off. While it was quite demining for those that left the company, those who were left behind also felt the blunt of the recession. In light of the fact that most of the key support staff were let go, those that were left behind had to cover the responsibilities and the gaps left behind. This meant that the staff that were left behind were assigned new roles over and above the ones that they had ("Decision-Making Styles", 2016). This was quite difficult and it had some very significant impacts on the level of productivity achievable.
The decisions made in the case by the managers were largely associated with intuition and logic.
