1.Critique Brigg’s management of the first meeting. What, if anything, should she have done differently?
There were time constraints and Briggs needed to accomplish more as there were few chances to complete the tasks. The other members were left unsure of what to expect as there was no clarity. This was compounded by these members being less enthusiastic about the project. Additionally, the members and had no knowledge and information about the project completion and participation that was required. Even as Briggs did not anticipate the time constraints, there was a need to request a change in the scheduling if she were unable to complete the project.
2.What barriers is she likely to encounter in completing this project?
There were 14 members who were not chosen based on skills, knowledge, and experience. There was also poor commitment to undertake and complete the projected members were also, spatially separated, there was part-time involvement, and inexperience working together on event projects.
3.What can she do to overcome these barriers?
There is a need to get student responses to their understanding of the aforementioned barriers and evaluate the likely solutions. This is helpful to understand how different factors affect project success, and how to overcome barriers to successful project management.
