Several definitions can be used to define leadership; it can be defined as a process, how it is influential, how it occurs in groups of people or how it is a guidance to accomplish goals. However, the most generic definition of leadership is the method whereby a person influences a gathering of people to cooperate and accomplish a shared objective (Northouse, 2010). Leaders may include the individuals in certain positions or with specific titles in an organization who can conduct leadership. However, leadership does not require a position or even a title; leadership is the ability of an individual to interact with others in an organization and provide guidance where needed. It allows a relationship between leaders and others/followers to exist, and with this perspective, it allows any individual to become a leader.
It is usually noted that to be an effective leader, it not only requires one to be meticulous in logical thinking and research, but also having an emotional connection with the followers.
