Alice in wonderland: Comparison of character
The characters in a book are often modeled to represent the characters of people in real life. The traits of such characters are mirror and one can use it to identify a character trait they have or they don`t have. For instance Alice in wonderland written by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson presents a lot of characters who are modeled to present ourselves in real life. They include: Alice, The Cheshire Cat, The Queen of Hearts, pigeon, Mad Hatter and March, Caterpillar, Duchess and Dinah. This paper will address the resemblance in Alice Character to a real life situation.
Alice, coming from an affluent English family, is portrayed as a rationale girl approaching puberty. She finds herself in unknown world of fantasy and imagination. However this doesn`t make her uncomfortable with personality and in fact she considers her new environment to consist of logical, clear, coherent rules and features (GradeSaver 2013). Alice is depicted as a curious girl who attempts to comprehend what is happening in a new environment by putting to task her previous experiences and knowledge. She perceives Wonderland with an anthropological mentality but in the same time upholds her elite status that comes with her class. She shows confidence in all her aspects of life from education, social position and good behavior expected from someone of her status. Comparing Alice to Mabel, Alice is seen having an air of authority and self assurance. She describes Mabel to be own a poky little house and has no toys.
Alice has little knowledge of wonderland but nevertheless she shows off whatever little information she has with anyone who offers to listen. In addition, she consistently insists on the importance of good behavior especially when she interacts with some ill behaved wonderland creatures. When it comes to creatures she perceives to be less privileged, Alice carries herself with uttermost concerned of their well being and has a tolerant attitude towards them (GradeSaver 2013).
