New Jersey continues to be one of the most polluted states in terms of air quality in the United States. The state suffers from overpopulation, which makes some environmental problems such as air pollution persistent. The air quality in New Jersey is unacceptable and it is sometimes harmful to human health, especially to the elderly and children (R. Mittal & C. Mittal, 2013). For several years, the state has been working very hard to provide a solution to air pollution problems. This is one of the major issues in New Jersey as New Jersey has never met the air- quality standards set by the Federal government.
