The main coal mining company the documentary focuses on is the Massey Energy, which is responsible for the environmentally destructive mountaintop removal mining method in the region. The communities in the Coal River Mountain want to preserve the mountain while Massey Energy blasts it to mine coal. The documentary shows that the practices of the company not only pollute the environment but also put risk to the lives and health of the members of the community.
