The Factors that have Driven the Growing Discontent
I have listened to many public speakers, and most try to polish up their words as much as possible. However, I find Minhaj radically different from the rest. He uses coarse and indecent language, yet his speeches remain irresistible. For instance, in the video, "Is college still worth it?" he is no different. He employs the same style of speech to cast into doubt the value of a college education. He starts off the blocks by pointing out the growing dislike many college-going students harbor towards school. He shows how the students jump at the slightest of opportunities to leave school. For instance, Minhaj claims colleges were the first to shut doors following the emergence of COVID-19. He explores the factors that have driven the growing discontent. In this regard, he shows that students, parents, and lecturers show little or no enthusiasm. That is why after three minutes and fifty-three seconds of his discourse, he poses the question, "Is College still worth it?" He uses various techniques such as evidence and analogical reasoning to drive home the point that going to college is no longer as glamorous as it used to be.
