Effective business communication requires an understanding of yourself and therefore, imploring strong confidence in all decision-making on a daily basis. So, after watching the TED talk, provide an analysis regarding the talk. Did it give you a new and different perspective of what communication entails? Why or why not? How did you absorb what the speaker said and how he said it? With that conveyed, how was his speech delivery? As we progress in the semester, you will present topics and speeches yourself.
In the Ted Talk presented by the speaker Drew Dudley, he emphasized how each of us are already leaders in our own way. He said that the reason why we are leaders is that every day, we do something that potentially changes the life (or lives) of other people around us and that we are simply too afraid to acknowledge the “light” that we are capable of bringing. In line with this, he also said that in order to become much better readers, we have to change our definition of leadership to our “lollipop moments”, more specifically, how many do we” create, acknowledge, pay forwards, and thank you for’ CITATION Dre10 \l 1033 (Dudley, 2010). In my own opinion of the video, I believe that this video has given me a new perspective on leaderships and communication. I now believe that although leadership might happen with the simplest acts that we do every day, what emphasizes it exponentially is how we communicate and the medium of communication that we use to deliver our actions and messages.
