The Slow Food Movement will improve the Condition of the Environment
The slow food movement has been popularised due to the positive effects that it has on the environment. The movement supports the consumption of locally manufactured food instead of imported foods, which ultimately cuts the use of fossil fuel in the transportation of food. At the same time, the movement provides a way to deal with a large corporation that has a monopoly in the food market. It is an excellent way of promoting awareness and responsibility to people and whole communities to consider improving their health and environment. The movement is mostly supported because it provides an organic alternative to the inorganic foods available in food markets. A factory farm is an industrialized farm that facilitates the rearing of animals in closed spaces with the purpose of reducing costs of raising livestock and maximize production (Tencati & Zsolnai, 2012). Such farms rely on precious non-renewable resources such as fossil fuels to run operations. The use of such resources may provide companies and owners with a cheaper alternative of production and result in monopoly by large corporations. Such monopoly allows such large companies to exploit the health of the livestock, workers and the environment to make profits, leading to many adver...
