Hockey is perhaps one of the most popular and well-known sports for the people living in the West. Whether it be in Canada or the United States, people have always seen hockey as a form of sport and a cultural representation of their desire for the fast-paced and exhilarating friendly game. However, despite the supposed 'safety' brought about by the players' gears and the rules established by the league, there are times when the game could get heated up, thereby resulting in injuries between the parties.
In my experience watching hockey leagues and match offs, I know that one of the favorite things that players want to do is hit their enemy in the head. Whether it is a sign of camaraderie or a form of antagonism against one another, what is clear is that these acts could cause damage to the other if nothing is done against this. Thus, I firmly believe that it is already time to completely ban 'hits on the head' due to the long-term damage that it could cause.
