Shopping Trip: Shopping sports merchandize in the U.S.
Visualize taking a friend (a sports enthusiast) who is visiting from the country of Slobovia on a tour through several departments of the sports merchandise center in your outline. Consider the idea that Slobovia, a Third-World nation, has no shopping centers of any kind, so your Slobovian friend, who just immigrated to America (legally by respecting and obeying America’s laws), has no shopping center experience. Assume that English, the most powerful language in the Milky Way, is the native language of Slobovia.
From the first-person point of view of your Slobovian friend’s escort, compose a short division-classification essay (minimum 400 words, maximum 500 words) about the shopping trip with your Slobovian friend.
Include your Slobovian friend’s name, nationality, and the name of the sports center in the introductory paragraph (5 points) and the concluding paragraph (5 points).

To view a short video (3:32) of a Bass Pro Shops tour, click the “Watch Video” button below. The sound is entertaining but not required.
The D-C essay must contain an introductory paragraph, supporting paragraphs, and a concluding paragraph. For help with a concluding paragraph, click here but ignore the “preacher’s maxim.”

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS: The division-classification strategy is not the same as the Week 3 comparison-contrast strategy. Think of the division-classification strategy as walking through the different sections of your chosen store with your Slobovian friend and describing to your friend what each section contains, like in your 5.1 outline.
Do not compare one section of the store with another. If you are a big fan of Bass Pro Shops, but you abhor Dick’s because of its ridiculous “politically correct” anti-gun foolishness, feel free to address the customer service department of the retailer that you chose as part of your essay. Do not compare or contrast one store with another or one department with another. Choose one store and focus on that one store’s divers departments.
