Human beings are the greatest enemies of themselves. This statement can be confirmed in various ways, especially in the way that blacks treat each other. For a long time, the blacks have been oppressed by other races. While their forefathers struggled and won the war against slavery as a form of racism, slavery has continued in various forms. A careful review of the daily lives of the Africans reveals an internal conflict among themselves. Every person tries to compare with the other person and create an ego in inner feelings. This ego creates an unhealthy competition, allowing them to continue being divided and ruled by other races.
The ability of Africans to overcome slavery was achieved through unity. However, modern blacks are facing difficulties in fighting racism and oppression because of their divisions. At birth, many people grow up, desiring to be the best, and bring about change. However, the stereotype accorded to them limits their potential. For example, Fanon, in “The Fact of Blackness,” came into the world intending to find meaning in things. However, his hopes were crushed when he realized how his race was perceived. He was regarded as a dirty nigger (Fanon, 1968). The perception is designed to crush any hopes that blacks may use to grow.
