Globalization started as early as in the 90s. The president of Iraq Saddam Hussein initially brought the idea of globalization as he wanted to establish the new world order. Hussein started by taking over the weak neighbour Kuwait which was rich in oil resources but defenceless. Most of the countries were against the idea lead by the USA. Under the leadership of bush, US organized nations to fight against the resistant Hussein with his Islamic army. Most countries contributed their troops who ganged up against stubborn Iraq. Bush gave out for Iraq to retreat, but when it refused, US send a lot of army to Iraq and Kuwait which led to the severe bombing of Iraq's air force and intensive attack on January 17. Iraq was easily defeated, and there were other side effects of the war, such Iraq’s people started suffering from the effect of chemical bombs that were used. During the wars, Saudi Arabia’s supply of oil to America had been halted hence affecting America’s economy. America's technology appeared to work perfectly with vital success. They lost 220 troops only out of the coalition troops, while the US lost 148 troops only. Bush's popularity soared, which implied, on the other hand, a victory for the new world order. George Bush gained a lot of popularity from this win. The reason for Iraq’s resistance was because America supported Israel’s existence in the middle, which the Islamic nation hated the most. Globalization through the new world order did not end after the Persian Gulf war. Instead, it appeared four years later in Bosnia where there was a lot of war causing a lot of death. Bill Clinton took a similar risk of troop involvement by sending missiles in Bosnia’s territory.
NATO was greatly involved in the operation in march 1999 which offensively attacked Bosnia and Yugoslavia. The attack resulted in a massacre as it was estimated around 2000 to 5000 people died in the attack. The attack mostly hit-hard Yugoslavia, which destroyed a lot of property. Bosnia and Yugoslavia surrendered, and they made peace which was another win again for the US. Most of the Islamic nations hated the US for being the leader in controlling world affairs. There were attacks on the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, which was associated with Al-Qaida, the Islamic jihad group. The world’s economic capital, New York, was also attacked from which the attacked was Islamic terrorist organized. The major significance of these wars is that it made countries come together to fight against terrorism. This improved globalization as the countries came together in unity against wars.
