The COVID-19 pandemic forced many establishments, businesses, and facilities, including schools, to close. Some of the most affected groups include high school and college students. To continue the students' studies, the government obliged schools and colleges to adopt distance e-learning strategies (Chen et al., 2020). Online learning is not a new method (Schneider & Council, 2020). However, studying in front of a screen for an extended period has various effects, especially for individuals who are not used to it. This paper will investigate the impact of distance e-learning on high school and college students. Moreover, the factors that resulted in the outcomes shall be probed.
There are two types of distance e-learning, namely, synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous classes allow the educators to teach the students to live, and it encourages an environment where the students and teachers can have interaction, thereby providing for a better engagement on a topic.
