Through this letter, I formally request for re-admission in your esteemed University. Studying in this university was fundamental in furthering my studies and getting prepared for a career in the field of life science. I had been here as a freshman but was discontinued due to poor grades. A number of factors had contributed to my poor performance. I will attribute these factors to being both personal and family crisis.
When entering high school, I had a high grade of 96. On addition to that, I had managed to attain the highest scholarships. I was proud of myself, but this pride went overboard to creating overconfidence in me. I was overconfident in my abilities which resulted to slothfulness. I was extremely lazy and a last minute person. I am also an international student and the change of environment brought about a number of challenges. I can say that I had a problem of flexibility when it came to changes. I had a problem adapting to the new environment, new culture, new people and the like. I, therefore, shifted my focus from academics and put it on trying to adapt and fitting in. The result as expected was poor academic performance. The last issue that contributed to poor performance was a family issue. I had a high time in school when my parents were undergoing a separation. This was at the onset of the exams.
