Most individuals from various countries around the world are familiar with the phrase “Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness,” but they may not know the intention of the philosophers responsible for the phrase. Early philosophers and politicians, especially in the U.S.A accentuated the need of equality and freedom before and during the great American Revolution of 1776 (Myers, 2018, p.221). Historically, the phrase followed the achievement of independence in America after the revolution. The politicians and philosophers aimed at preaching the gospel of human rights such as equality and freedom among all human beings. Arguably, a thorough analysis of the phrase reveals two perceptions of its meaning that include the intended meaning by the founding fathers and personal inference made from each word in the phrase.
