Humans belong to a diverse group of primates that include 200 species. Also known to belong in the sub-group of primates known as the Great Apes, humans also belong to the family of Hominidae. Besides, Homo sapiens is the only living species of humans today, also known as modern humans CITATION Bla18 \l 1033 (Blaxland, 2018). Other primates such as apes, monkeys, and lemurs belong to the same family as humans. Additionally, this family of primates has evolved from a common ancestor over the last 60 million years. As a result of the relation, this group of primates has a genetic similarity. Human DNA is ninety-nine percent identical to bonobos and chimpanzees in broad-spectrum, while other distant primate relatives are ninety-six percent identical.
