Female refuges are vulnerable categories of people who are likely to suffer from flashback posttraumatic disorder. A female refuge is a person who has crossed into international borders because of war or other discriminatory practices. They are likely to suffer from flashback PTSD because of the traumatic experience that lead to their escape, conflict in culture, harsh transit situations, as well as multiple losses of the family losses. This paper will look at the cultural considerations, the techniques of communication, and the barriers in language that can lead to the flashback PTSD. It will also highlight the common triggers for this population and how they can be reduced or avoided( Pho, Gerson, & Cowan, 2007).
The literatures on clinical matters and research indicate that a vast majority of this population suffer from psychological and physical dysfunctions in the initial two years of resettling in a new country.
