Personal Qualifications
Of many years in professional and field experience is Alan Glen. He has amply participated in transportation design and handled managerial functions for a period of thirty-three years and dazzlingly skilled in all roadway design phases. In addition, Alan Glen has also held responsibility roles in diverse fields such as being a Project Engineer, working as Project Manager and designing for entities including Local Agency and Caltrans, a state-owned agency involved in developing and maintaining transportation systems across California.
Drafting reports on executed and ongoing projects, generation of Project Study Reports and producing Plans, Specifications and Estimations (PS&Es) has also been Alan Glen’s responsibility during his career. Alan Glen took the role of a Geometric Reviewer for Caltrans and helped review Northern California, Bernardino and Riverside counties’ designs for geometric approval. The review and development of over sixty PSRs also add up to Alan Glen’s responsibilities.
California needed roadway design standards and so for six years, Alan Glen had the responsibility of establishing and developing the same plus the Highway Design Manual. With much dedication, the AASHTO Task Force on Geometric design took place, and Glen was there to represent California.
